Health wisdom.......

"To acquire knowledge, one must study; but to acquire wisdom, one must observe."-- Marilyn vos Savant

The last four blogs have focused on what causes chronic disease ( inflammation) and what you can do to prevent/ stop /reverse chronic disease ( correct diet). We all want the same thing, "to live long and prosper." It takes wisdom to achieve that goal. We all become wiser as we age, and sometimes we tend to learn through trial and error.

There is lot of data and information in those blogs. But information is not knowledge, knowledge is acquired when one understands the information to be able to make good decisions. Wisdom is acquired through actions and sorting out what worked and what did not.

Diet is the most important lifestyle factor in creating health. 97% of us do not have good lifestyle habits just based on diet and exercise according to surveys. Therefore, it is not surprising that Americans have high health care costs since our overall incidence of chronic disease and cancer is higher than almost all other developed countries.

Being healthy is simple and low tech. If we do the right things most of time, we don't need expensive hospital and doctors services and we can live a long life without disability. We don't need to have a perfect diet but they are things to stop, replace and reduce.

Chronic inflammation is not well understood. My doctors do not like to talk about it. If you have any questions about this me and I will try and answer your questions. It is important that everyone understand the cause(s) of chronic inflammation.

Diet is not well understood. If it was understood, we all be eating right and be healthier. Our kids are even sicker than we were at their age, so the prognosis is bad for future health care costs and our kids lifespan. If you are not sure why the Mediterranean Diet and the Whole Food Plant Diet (WFPD) with some additional omega 3 fats are the best choice for you, and email me if you have a question for clarification.

Diet and Inflammation are two of the four basic cornerstones of good health. The third is exercise and the fourth is to be toxin free or rid yourself of toxins as much as possible. I wrote about the toxin issue in my book so I will not be covering it in this blog. But all us have over 400 toxins in our body . Based on limited studies on a new born baby's umbilical cords, babies born today have about 200 toxins in them.

Inflammation and toxins cause all the chronic disease and cancer we encounter today in our world. Even if you eat well, if you do not eliminate toxins from your house, air, food and water you will not be able to maintain health.

Unfortunately, America has been increasing the number of toxins in its food supply in the last few decades. There are dozens of movies, books and articles written on this subject. Our food supply is tainted and most Americans have no clue what the toxins are and how to sort them out.

Gain knowledge on inflammation and the right diet; don't assume you know all there is know. Find out what the top 25 or 50 toxins that you need to get rid of today or at least over the next few years.

"Most ignorance is vincible ignorance. We don't know because we don't want to know."...Aldous Huxley

"The doorstep to the temple of wisdom is a knowledge of our own ignorance.".. Benjamin Franklin
